Tomi Yli-Kyyny appointed Caruna’s CEO
Caruna’s Board of Directors appoints Tomi Yli-Kyyny as Caruna’s new CEO. Tomi Yli-Kyyny will take up his new role in early 2017.
Tomi Yli-Kyyny will transfer to Caruna from the position of Vapo Oy’s CEO which he has held since 2011. Previously, Tomi Yli-Kyyny has served as the CEO of Pohjola Vakuutus as well as in several management positions in Pohjola Group.
“We were looking for an experienced director for Caruna. During Caruna’s next stage of development, we will particularly value the strong and extensive experience Tomi Yli-Kyyny has gained in the CEO’s roles in several sectors. Tomi Yli-Kyyny will continue to carry out our major network improvement project, and he will be the right person to lead Caruna’s competent specialists, and to increase our collaboration with customers and stakeholder groups,” said Chairman of Caruna’s Board of Directors Juha Laaksonen.
Caruna devotes considerable resources to renewing and developing its network to meet future needs, such as enabling the increase in the number of electric vehicles and growth in decentralised energy production using renewable energy sources.
“The energy sector is going through an interesting phase and experiencing a major transition. A network is being built to serve customers and the Finnish society for decades to come. It is great to be able to participate in this development, building a future energy system with Finland’s leading electricity distribution company,” said Tomi Yli-Kyyny.
Jyrki Tammivuori continues as acting CEO until Tomi Yli-Kyyny joins the company.
