Would you like to know of possible supply interruptions even when away from home? Why not sign up for Caruna's free alert service? You can receive messages about electricity supply interruptions to several phone numbers or e-mail addresses.

Caruna's alert service, Caruna Sähkövahti, informs you of both planned supply interruptions and unexpected power cuts in the medium voltage network by text messages or e-mail messages.

Electricity supply interruptions may be either unexpected power cuts or planned temporary interruptions because of network improvement projects in progress in your area. Unexpected power cuts can be particularly unpleasant, but Caruna Sähkövahti helps you hear about them quickly.

You can subscribe to the alert service if you have a current network service contract with Caruna, as well as a home, summer home or another property within Caruna's network area. You can start using Caruna Sähkövahti as soon as you have subscribed to it or have been recorded as a user when you move house.

You should always keep your contact details and alert service settings up to date. You can easily enter any updates or discontinue the service by logging into our online services, using the link on the upper right corner of this page. If you have not subscribed to Caruna Sähkövahti, we will send you a notice of a planned power cut by regular mail. We will stop sending you these notices by mail when you have subscribed to Caruna Sähkövahti.


We send our customers alerts on any interruptions of electricity supply in the medium voltage network. We do not send alerts on interruptions lasting only a few minutes.

  • You can choose whether to receive supply interruptions alerts to your mobile phone or e-mail, and at what time.
  • Caruna Sähkövahti is available in Finnish and Swedish, and you can choose the language of the messages.
  • Other members of your family can also request to receive Caruna Sähkövahti's messages to their mobile phones or e-mail, or you can even have the messages sent to anyone looking after your house when you are away.
  • You can also choose the time of day we send you alerts. This allows you to avoid receiving alerts during the evening and night hours, for instance; they will always be sent at a time that suits your daily schedule.

Please bear in mind that we only notify our customers about any cancellations or scheduling changes related to planned supply interruption through the alert service. We no longer send cancellation and rescheduling notices by letter.

If the supply of electricity is not restored even though you received a notice about the end of a supply interruption, there may be a fault in the low voltage network that connects your home to our distribution network. Please inform us of this fault so that we can initiate the repairs. You can contact us 24/7 at our free fault reporting number 0800 1 95011.

You can start using Caruna's alert service at any time

Subscribe to the service by logging into our online services at When you register for the first time, you will need a working e-mail address as well as your customer number and the number for your place of electricity use. Both are stated on your bill. You can also register using your online bank identifiers. Updating your subscription settings is easy and quick; you only need to log into our online services.

New customers are recorded as Caruna's alert services users automatically

You can start using Caruna Sähkövahti immediately after signing an electricity supply contract. We will send a text message to a mobile number given by you, to let you know this number has been recorded at Caruna Sähkövahti. You can cancel your subscription by a text message if you don't want to receive notices of supply interruptions. More detailed cancellation instructions are included in the subscription confirmation message (standard text message rates apply to replies).
